Chemical and Material Analysis

Qualitative and quantitative elemental analysis of compounds as solids, liquids and gases. Material identification and characterization tests are conducted from the smallest material samples. Polymers are identified from a few nanograms of material, elemental analyses require much less. Polymer structural information – such as degree of cure and accuracy of mix ratios – is determined, as well as lot-to-lot variations in products or incoming materials.

Common questions related to chemical analysis and materials identification:

  • What is the material of interest on?
  • Can it be removed from the substrate?
  • Is elemental identification helpful or are you only interested in chemical identification?
  • Are you convinced the material is still in good shape and not been degraded by chemical attack or degraded by exposure to excessive heat?
